Bell Let’s Talk 2026

Hello Everyone

Today here in Canada we have our annual Bell Let’s Talk day. It’s for anyone who knows or suffers with mental health. Let’s all help each other out and find a way to end this stigma together. As most of you know I have been dealing with depression for more than fifteen years. Instead of talking about my depression today, I am going to talk about how exercise has helped me with my mental health.

Over the past couple of years I have been struggling with finding ways to help me stay in shape but also help me with my mental health. I have tried a few different things for exercise like using a stationary bike, doing yoga and Pilates.

I have found that I get bored of doing the same kind of exercises and I don’t enjoy exercising. Last year I tried doing something different for a change. I started doing pilates at home and I really enjoyed it because of the different exercises with my Pilates bored. Unfortunately after about six months of doing Pilates with my bored I broke one of my resistance bands. So now I have been trying to get a replacement band for my bored but I haven’t had any luck finding the right size.

So now I have been trying to find something else to help me stay in shape and help me with my mental health. At the beginning of this month I started doing some research on different types of exercise that I can do in my home. I found out that if you do rebounding exercises on a trampoline that’s a great way for exercising and your mental health.

I never thought I would be getting myself a mini trampoline for exercise. I had a trampoline growing up and I loved it. Now I love that I don’t need to be spending more than ten to fifteen minutes a day bouncing on it. Every time I am finished with my workout I am exhausted and I feel amazing. I feel like I have more energy.

It’s so important to find a workout plan or a routine that you enjoy doing. Sometimes I don’t feel like working out so I will get outside and go for a walk to get some fresh air. Not only is exercising good for your body to stay healthy but it’s also good for your mental health to stay healthy as well.

I want to take a moment to remind you to check on someone you love that you know that has mental health struggles and let them know that they are loved and they are enough just the way they are. Tell them that you are thinking of them because you care. It’s those little things that matter the most.
